Revelation Within On the Go!
Revelation Within equips people with life-giving, grace-infused mind renewal tools to deepen their intimacy with Jesus so that counterfeit comforts (like overeating) lose their allure, and the joy and hope of Jesus fills their lives, satisfying their souls.
In our podcast we talk about mind renewal, tips and tricks for getting and staying free from counterfeit comforts like overeating (over-scrolling, over-drinking, over-anythinging...)
We began as Thin Within in 1975, a pioneer in intuitive, mindful eating back when diets were in their hey day! Thin Within has taught people how to tune in to their body's natural signals of hunger and satisfaction, remaining present with their meals and delighting in tastes and textures--and the Lord!
In the 1980s, Thin Within became a Christian ministry, showing people that the emptiness that they have felt and often filled with food that their bodies don't require, was really placed in there to be filled full with God through Jesus. He wants to set us free from all strongholds!
We rebranded our ministry and our podcast in 2023 to Revelation Within.

Speaker 1:When I feel like I have failed. How can I deal with my failure? I'm going to take a moment, sit still with the Lord, perhaps have my Bible nearby, Open up a journal and I have a pen in hand in case there's something he wants to speak to my soul that I can jot down and recall later. I'm going to speak words like these to him Lord, I have struggled. This is what happened yesterday, last night, earlier today, at that holiday event or after I got home from that holiday event Be specific Name when the failure or slip or stumble or fall happened, Lord, I'm going to describe what I know happened and how it didn't serve the godly purposes you have for me.
Speaker 1:Lord, I've given in Instead of renewing my mind or resisting the temptation or redirecting my attention. Lord, I want to ask you to redeem this failure, this slip, this stumble, this fall. I know you forgive me and I thank you, Jesus, for your forgiveness. Would you please show me what was going on that caused me to give in, that caused me not to care for that moment, that caused me to turn from your good and wise and loving leadership? Lord, as I am still and quiet, you show me answers to these questions. Maybe I was too tired. Maybe there are certain people I can be triggered by, Maybe it was a bungee to my past. Somebody said something that caused me to react with such strong feeling that was rooted not in the present moment, but in my past. Maybe that turned me to food. Maybe I allowed myself to be swept up in the moment. That was actually not this moment, but some moment from the past.
Speaker 1:Lord, what can I do so that, going forward into the future, I can be equipped for victory? So I can be equipped and ready so that, if all things are the same, I can emerge victorious in the same challenge? I quiet myself right now and listen to you. Lord, please show me what I can do differently. Lord, I know that it's not like you to say, yeah, just don't eat or don't speak that harsh word, or don't go so long on Netflix. You're not quite like that. Your ways are not my ways. Speak that harsh word or don't go so long on Netflix. You're not quite like that. Your ways are not my ways. You're going to show me, instead, what I can do proactively, preemptively, even before I am tempted, so that my heart is in a different place.
Speaker 1:Do I need to renew my mind about being in a certain situation. What is true, Lord? Do I need to consider the people I spend my time with? What is true? Do I need to set my resolve? What is true, Lord? Do I need to immerse myself in your word? What is true, Lord?
Speaker 1:I want my life to be reflective of what you say is true, renewing my mind that I might be transformed. Lord, what are truths that you want me to tell myself again and again? Because what I tell myself again and again is what I will believe. What I tell myself is what I will believe, and what I believe is what I will act on.
Speaker 1:Lord, are there lies that I have been believing that have caused me to slip, stumble or fall? Lord, right now I want to tear down those lies. Help me to write down the lies that I believe, or things that I'm allowing to define me from my past. That may have really happened, but they don't have the power to define me going forward. What is the truth you want me to replace these lies with? I will jot those down right now. I do that. Now. I will take with me what you have shown me in this time. We will go forward into the future, you and I. I will make choices to support my godly desires by renewing my mind, by praying, by reading your word, by getting the rest I need so that I'm not vulnerable to temptation, by choosing carefully what I put into my mind, whether it is what I read, what I listen to, what I watch. Please show me. Thank you, Lord, Amen.
