Send us a text

We have a special December series for you. Each day a short mind renewal meditation will be released, lasting about five minutes. We hope these encourage you to press-in closer to Jesus this year.

Have you ever felt distant from God, or like your prayers are met with silence?
In this episode, we invite you to engage in prayer and reflection on the timeless truths from James 4:8 and 1 Corinthians 13:7-8, seeking to strengthen our trust in God’s steadfast presence.  Together, we explore how affirming scripture can help renew our minds and hearts, anchoring us in the assurance that God’s love is constant, even when it seems far away. We navigate the challenge of aligning our emotions with the truth of God’s unwavering grace and enduring.  By focusing on these spiritual truths, we can find peace, knowing that God is actively working in our lives, and promises to never abandon us.

Speaker 1:

Hey everyone, this is Christina Motley and I'm going to do a Mind Renewal audio on feeling far away from God. Lord Jesus, I admit to you that this morning I feel far away from you. You don't seem close. I don't know where you are. I can't feel you. I can't sense you. It doesn't feel like you hear me or are answering my prayers. I can't sense your presence today and I don't know why. I want to renew my mind so that I am filling my mind and my heart with what is true, not with what I feel, not with what is dependent on my emotions or on my feelings.

Speaker 1:

James 4.8. When you draw close to God, god will draw close to you. Lord, I know that this is what is true. You are close to me right now, in this moment. You are here with me, whether I feel you or sense you or not. 1 Corinthians, 13, 7 and 8.

Speaker 1:

Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope. It can outlast anything. Love never fails. Lord, what I know is true is that you are love. So what I know is that you will always be with me. There is no end to the time that I can trust you. You will never leave me hopeless. You will outlast anything. You will never fail me.

Speaker 1:

What is true is that you are here with me in this moment. In whatever I am dealing with, whatever circumstances I am in, whatever feeling I am feeling, you are here with me. Lord, what is true is that your word says you will never forsake me. You will never leave me. And you are unchanging.

Speaker 1:

Each day you are the same. You were the same yesterday, you are the same today, you were the same last night and this morning and you will be the same this afternoon. Your love for me is unending. Your grace for me is limitless and boundless. What is true is that you are here with me now and I can depend on that. I can depend on your presence. You hear me, you're listening to me, you are with me and you are at work in my life and my heart, no matter how I'm feeling in this moment. Help me, lord, to trust you, even when I don't sense you. Help me to trust you and know you are there. I praise you, lord, for who you are in my life and that you are the same always. I pray in Jesus' name, amen.
