Speaker 1:

Hi, this is Heidi and Christina with a Mind Renewal Part Two on my body and my awareness of God's presence. This holiday season, lord, you know that my heart is to exalt you and praise you with my thoughts, with my words, every bit of who I am. During this holiday season, I want to open my heart wide to you and make room in my life for you in ways perhaps I never have. Instead of allowing thoughts of who's going to see me, what do I look like compared to the last time they saw me, crowd out thoughts of you, instead, I want to give you all that room in my thoughts, all that room in my mind and my heart. Thank you, lord.

Speaker 2:

Lord Jesus, I am too focused on myself. I can tell it feels uncomfortable. I don't like the way this feels. I want to be looking to you, I want to be exalting you, I want to be a light in the darkness. Because of your light in me, your spirit in me, lord, I want to walk into a room of people and feel comfortable in my own skin, knowing that you made me, that I am yours, that I am yours. Lord, help me to focus now on your truth and your words, so that I can have a focus that leads others to you, a focus of a servant, a focus of someone who sees the needs of others. Lord, lead me in the way that you would have me go. Wherever I am this holiday season, whoever I am, with Help me, lord, to be aware of your presence.

Speaker 1:

With Help me, lord to be aware of your presence. Yes, lord, and thank you that you walk with us. It's truly too amazing. We are in Psalm 139, verses 7 to 12, for the rest of our mind renewal time. Oh God, is there any place I can go to avoid your spirit, if I even wanted to, to be out of your sight? No, of course not, and I want to be aware of you everywhere I go.

Speaker 2:

Lord Jesus, if I climb to the sky, you're there. If I go underground, you're there. If I'm with family, with friends, at a gathering that feels uncomfortable to me, or where I feel the most safe, you are there. Lord. Your presence is constantly with me and I thank you, lord, for that.

Speaker 1:

I thank you for that gift and Lord, when I am lonely and all alone, you are there as well. I am not all alone. I'm so grateful that in any given moment you are present, you're saying here I am, here I am. If I fly on morning's wings to the far Western horizon, you'd find me in a minute. You're already there, waiting, and God, that is just it is. You're waiting. You want to show me compassion. You want to show me your love. You want to wipe my mind and heart free of the things that cause me anxiety, like my body, my food, my eating, the comparison trap. You want to fill my vision with you.

Speaker 2:

Then I said to myself oh, he even sees me in the dark At night. I'm immersed in the light, lord, late at night, when I'm by myself, when my thoughts are spinning, when I'm feeling loneliness or loss, lord, when things feel wrong, when I'm disappointed, you are there. Also, when I'm celebrating, when I'm full of joy, when I see someone that I love so much, when I am focused, lord, on the Christ child and the amazing story of you coming to earth, lord, then you are with me as well. You are constantly with me.

Speaker 1:

Oh God, I thank you that it is a fact. Darkness isn't dark to you. You are the light of the world and you shine so brightly this time of the year we're reminded of that, with lights everywhere sparkling, so bright and beautiful. You are the one that gives light to life. I thank you for that that night and day, darkness and light, they're all the same to you. Oh Lord, I want my mind to be filled with your light, with your truth. I want my heart to be flooded every nook and cranny, crack and crevice. Let your light, lord, shine there and chase away the darkness of self-absorption, self-deprecation, self-comparison. Lord, I just want to belong heart, soul, mind, body strength to you.

Speaker 2:

Yes, Lord Jesus, we want to be walking through this holiday season with the peace that passes all understanding. Lord, help us to know that you are there in the midst of our joy and our sorrow, in the midst of calm and rest, in the midst of our joy and our sorrow, in the midst of calm and rest, in the midst of stress and activity. Lord, you are with us, you are our light. Help us to keep our eyes fixed on you and our hearts fixed on you. Lord, we love you so much and we pray in Jesus' name.

Speaker 1:

Amen Amen.
