Speaker 1:

Hi, this is Heidi Biles-Mapperson, with A Mind Renewal Meditation on Christmas Day. Happy Christmas. Galatians 4, verses 4 to 7, say but when the time arrived, that was set by God, the Father. God sent his Son, born among us of a woman born under the conditions of the law, so that and I'm going to continue reading in a moment but all of that, jesus's entry into the world at the exact time and the exact place, to the exact people, was set by God. That was all set by God and it was established for a reason. So that I paused there, because what comes next is going to tell us why Jesus was sent into the world and born as a baby. But when the time arrived, it was set by God, the father. God sent his son, born among us of a woman born under the conditions of the Father. God sent his Son, born among us of a woman born under the conditions of the law, so that he, jesus, might redeem those of us who have been kidnapped by the law. Thus we have been set free to experience our rightful heritage. You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as his own children, because God sent the spirit of his son into our lives, crying out Papa, father, doesn't that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave but a child, and if you are a child, you're also an heir with complete access to the inheritance? That's Galatians 4, verses 4 to 7 in the Passion Translation.

Speaker 1:

I love this Lord. I love that, first of all, jesus came into this world at the time you set and in the way that you set. None of it was by accident. Lord, help me to remember you are intentional in my life, in the lives of those I love. You were intentional when you sent Jesus into this world, born as a babe, which seems so unbelievable and yet it's true. You were intentional to do it just that way, in a dingy stable where animals were feeding and sleeping. All of that was intentional. The greatest treasure of all time was sent forth by you, the greatest giver of the greatest gifts, to be for us the best gift ever. Thank you, jesus, that you were willing to step down from amazing heavenly kingly glory in heaven, in fellowship with the Father and the Spirit, and you took on flesh, the flesh of a babe, and you entered this world so that you could redeem me, you could redeem all of us. Wow, we had been kidnapped by the law. We thought that we could do it all ourselves. We thought that we could line up and behave ourselves and follow the rules. But we couldn't. We were just kidnapped by the law. Now we've been set free. I've been set free to experience what you intended me to experience. I am now a fully adopted child of the King of the universe. Thank you, lord, and thank you for your spirit in my heart and life. That grants me an intimate conversation with you. In any moment I can turn and speak to you.

Speaker 1:

John, chapter 1, verse 29,. John the Baptist exclaimed Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Jesus, that is why you entered the world that you might take away my sin and all of our sins. Oh Lord, god, I want to exclaim with the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 9.15, praise you, god, for your astonishing gift, which is far too great for words. Thank you, lord, thank you that you chose this path, this plan, this amazing plan before the beginning of time, so great and mighty that even angels long to look into it. Thank you, lord, thank you that you have given me this unspeakable gift. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
