Revelation Within On the Go!
Revelation Within equips people with life-giving, grace-infused mind renewal tools to deepen their intimacy with Jesus so that counterfeit comforts (like overeating) lose their allure, and the joy and hope of Jesus fills their lives, satisfying their souls.
In our podcast we talk about mind renewal, tips and tricks for getting and staying free from counterfeit comforts like overeating (over-scrolling, over-drinking, over-anythinging...)
We began as Thin Within in 1975, a pioneer in intuitive, mindful eating back when diets were in their hey day! Thin Within has taught people how to tune in to their body's natural signals of hunger and satisfaction, remaining present with their meals and delighting in tastes and textures--and the Lord!
In the 1980s, Thin Within became a Christian ministry, showing people that the emptiness that they have felt and often filled with food that their bodies don't require, was really placed in there to be filled full with God through Jesus. He wants to set us free from all strongholds!
We rebranded our ministry and our podcast in 2023 to Revelation Within.

Revelation Within On the Go!
Coaching From the Inside Out
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We know that wanting to lose weight can sometimes feel like a spiritual problem, so in this episode we tackle the honest question many people quietly ask: “Is it wrong to want to lose weight?” We talk about how to hold that desire with open hands rather than allowing our weight to determine our worth, safety, acceptance, or hope for the future. We explore the deeper beliefs that can sit underneath weight-loss goals—“If I’m smaller, I’ll be accepted,” “Then I’ll feel in control,” or “Then I can finally live”—and consider what happens when we bring those longings honestly before God.
We also explain what one-on-one coaching looks like within Revelation Within: starting exactly where you are, moving gently, and allowing God to reveal what He wants to show us in His timing. We share why we moved from Thin Within to Revelation Within and why our focus is ultimately on knowing God and growing in our identity in Christ, rather than simply pursuing a different body. We also take an honest look at GLP-1 medications and weight-loss surgery, recognizing that these tools may affect appetite and weight while acknowledging that they don’t automatically address body shame, fear of regain, or the deeper reasons we turn to food. For us, mind renewal is an ongoing practice that helps us keep bringing those deeper places to God—even when life gets hard.
If you’re tired of the scale defining you and you want real food freedom rooted in faith, listen now, then share this with a friend who needs gentleness and truth. Subscribe, leave a review, and tell us what belief you’re ready to renew first.

Welcome And Coaching Context
SPEAKER_02Hi and welcome to our podcast, Revelation Within on the Go. I'm Heidi Wilesman Epherson, one of your hosts and the owner and lead coach of Revelation Within.
SPEAKER_00And I'm Christina Motley, your other host, also a Revelation Within coach, and Heidi's partner in all things Revelation Within. We are so happy to invite you to join us for this episode of Revelation Within. Come on in. We're so glad you're here.
SPEAKER_02Well, last time we started a conversation about coaching, specifically uh one-on-one coaching. And Christina is doing an amazing job with these ladies who come to her for the her coaching ladies. Um, they come to her for one-on-one coaching. And we talked a little bit about some of the challenges that they bring or that they encounter and some of Christina's strategies for um making it over those hurdles in one piece and with a heart intact and healed. So I thought, you know, there were some things that we didn't get to. I thought it would be good to have another episode where we're talking about some of these things. So let's go there, shall we?
SPEAKER_00Yes. And Heidi is one-on-one coaching as well. And so we're gonna make this a conversation for both of us. And I'm really excited about
Wanting Weight Loss Without Shame
SPEAKER_00it.
SPEAKER_02Well, first of all, I think making room for the honest desire that many people have when they come for one-on-one coaching or come to our classes or come to Revelation Within It All is this question of is it wrong or somehow unspiritual to want to lose weight? And I know we don't make that a focus anymore. We've made a really big deal about not making it a focus, but I don't want people to think, because it wouldn't be accurate, that we therefore think it's wrong to have this desire. It's a tricky line to walk. And I asked Christine about that last time. But so let's go ahead and start there, elaborating a little bit on what do we do with this desire to lose weight? Sometimes physical, medical, relational reasons, emotional reasons, practical reasons that people have for wanting to change her body. Um, is there a way of carrying that longing without letting that desire own us? What do you think? And what do you coach people about in that regard?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, I often begin with my own story when people ask about this because I want them to know that I get it. I've been there, I was there for decades. Um, and I mentioned this before in our other podcast. It didn't matter what size I was. Right. I was miserable no matter what. Um, and so when I was at my largest size, I was miserable physically and emotionally, I was miserable. When I was at my smallest size, I was afraid of losing that, you know. So there was this constant fear that I'm gonna gain it all back. So I was miserable then. And honestly, even when I was my smaller size, I struggled with body dysmorphia. I struggled with I'm really bigger than I think I am, and I was just as insecure and I was just as tortured by those old thoughts about myself as I was when I was larger because I had not renewed my mind. My thoughts were the same, right? Um, and so I often begin with my own story. Um, I am not a person that's had to lose huge amounts of weight. Um, that's just not been my story. It is mine.
SPEAKER_02Well, uh, some people would say it's not huge, but I've lost a hundred pounds twice. Yes, you have.
SPEAKER_00You have. I've never experienced anything like that. Probably the most I've ever lost is like 40, 45. Um, maybe even less than that. I I don't know. But what's important is that the ladies that I coach know that I understand that I've been there, that I know how difficult that is. Um, not even just difficult, but it feels impossible to get away from those old thoughts. Um, and then I also have quite a few ladies right now and over the past few years who are at a size that really limits them. They are they are in pain daily because of their size, they are limited in their mobility because of their size. And that's a whole nother level of heartbreak in many ways. Um, and so we tell our stories together and we share our experiences together. I want them to know that I would never judge them, I would never condemn them. I'm in the same boat with them. You know, we've got our uh
The Deeper Hope Under Weight Loss
SPEAKER_00we're arm in arm, we've locked our arms together and we're walking together.
SPEAKER_02Right. Well, one of the things I found I have found in the coaching that I have done over the years is sometimes there is a deeper hope. Beneath the hope to just change my size. It might be something like if I lose the weight, then I will be safe. Or if I lose the weight, then I will be accepted, or then I will stop feeling so ashamed. Or it might be then I will finally be able to live. Uh it might be then I will feel in control, then I will like myself, and really I remember the days when I would think, as soon as I lose all the weight, all my problems will go away. Yes. Any challenges in my marriage, in my relationships, they're all gonna go away.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that is exactly how I felt too. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02How do you help someone become curious about this, about these thoughts that she may have beneath the hope of losing weight? And look at what are you hoping weight loss will give you? And is there something missing that needs to be put in place so that you can experience whatever God has for you that may not be so fixated on my size or my shape or whatever? I mean, is there is there an answer to that?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
Starting Where You Are
SPEAKER_00Well, the first thing we always do, we start exactly where they are. Um, so I never want to overwhelm somebody. I never want to, you know, cause them to feel like, oh my gosh, this is too scary. I can't do this, I can't go deeper. We always start exactly where they are. And that's Heidi, what you did with me. We started where I was, and you accepted me right there, even though you knew that there was a lot going on underneath that I wasn't even ready for yet. Um, you modeled that beautifully for me. And over the years in our coaching groups, I watched you do that as well with such compassion. And oh, you did it so well. I thought, I'm gonna be like her when I grow up. Oh dear. No, really. So that's the first thing is we start where you are. And a lot of that is sharing experiences. Um, and a lot of times as we share, as we begin, as the person I'm working with begins to trust me and realize she's really not judging me, she's not gonna condemn me. She she gets it. I've heard enough of her experiences to know she understands me. I'm okay, I'm safe here. Um, over time, for some it's very short, and for some it's much longer, and that's okay. But over time, things begin to come up. And that's not me, that's God. God brings things up, and a person will say, Oh, oh my gosh, I just realized there's a connection with what happened to me as a child in this relationship with my food and eating now. And it's like we start having these moments of aha, oh my gosh. Yes. Wait a minute, which actually is, I think, very much why our name changed to Revelation within. Yes, it is, but that's what starts happening in our calls. Our calls become um richer and deeper as they go because God is revealing things to you. Now, what I've seen in the way that God does this, he's very gentle. It's not overwhelming, it's not like, ah, I want to run away. I'm not safe anymore, I can't handle this. It's not that way. God is very gentle and tender and loving, and he's not in a rush, he's not in a hurry, and so for some, it may take a really long time. And that's okay because healing is happening, and the healing is just priceless. That's where the freedom is. Um, but we're never gonna start there, we're always gonna begin exactly where a person is, and then over time, God reveals things and we pray over them, we talk about them, we root renew our minds about these things, and the healing comes little by little.
SPEAKER_02And one of the things I just want to say, and I know it's probably pretty obvious, but we're not gonna stick our foot in a door and say, you've got to go here, okay? When you're trying to shut the door on it. We want to wait on the Lord and his timing and the timing that he leads you to have in your healing journey. And but it, but it it is hard. It is hard work. It's work that oftentimes can be heartbreaking, but there's healing in that heartbreak. Yes. Um, uh, but I know Christina well enough to know she's extremely gentle and very encouraging. There's never a time when she's gonna take you in a direction that you're she's not gonna take you kicking and screaming. She's just not.
SPEAKER_00Oh no, I would never. I would never. Um, and again, that so I want to just go back to this really quick, Heidi. The the new name that we have that we've had in the last few years, Revelation Within, as opposed to thin within, because that's so intertwined in what we're talking about here.
SPEAKER_02It is.
SPEAKER_00Can you talk about that for just a second?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
Why Revelation Within Replaced Thin
SPEAKER_02Um the focus of the name change was what is our primary desire for the people who come to us? Is it for them to experience thin? And that might be wonderful for many people, or they might feel like it is, but what do we really long for for them? What are what is our heart's desire for them? It's revelation, revelation of God and his character, of their identity in Christ. And and so we felt like it was kind of twofold. We wanted to put the emphasis where the emphasis is, and that's on the Lord and what he how he reveals himself to his people and his loved ones. But it was also so that we would not mislead anybody into thinking that this is where we're going to thin. And because that's not where we're going. What we really want to do is go to a deeper intimacy with God because when we are turning to him to have those needs met, it makes all the difference in the world. And we we stop going to counterfeit comforts. It doesn't require um a white knuckling, teeth-gritted, clenched fist sort of approach. It's my heart is full, and therefore I don't need to turn to something else. Yes, it doesn't, it doesn't happen on a dime necessarily, and it's a long process for many of us, five steps forward and three back sometimes. But really, how many times have we heard somebody say, ah, I've had a revelation? It's not about the food. Yes, and or oh, I've had a revelation, I am free, I can choose what I will think about and what I will do next. I'm not stuck. And so we thought, you know, this is what's going on. People are experiencing revelation within. Right. And also we want that to be the focus so that when a person comes, they're not just thinking, well, I want to be thin. And and to be honest with you, thin sounds scary for some of us. So so let's talk. Since we've been hinting at and speaking of mind renewal so much, let's look at how does mind renewal contribute to these many things that people bring with them into a coaching relationship. They may come saying, My doctor says I need to lose weight, I don't want to go on a GLP one, or I am going on a GLP one, but I know that there's more to this than that. So, what how
Tools Do Not Renew Your Mind
SPEAKER_02does mind renewal play a part in that? And you're like up close and personal with a lot of ladies who are dealing with this.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, I am, and it is my honor and privilege to be. I'm I'm thrilled to be a part of that for them. So, and and just like I said, walking with them, no matter what it looks like. So, medication, surgery, any of these things, they are going to change things like appetite, capacity, digestion, weight, those kinds of things, but they don't renew our thinking. They don't, not unless we intentionally go there. Um so, I mean, a smaller appetite is not necessarily the same thing as a healed relationship with food.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00We don't want to take the tools and turn them into this is it, this is gonna fix me, this is the one thing, this is what I'm gonna look to, because they will all fall short eventually. They're tools. Um, tools can be incredibly valuable, but most of the ladies that come to us, a revelation within, I'm gonna say all of them really, are looking for something deeper. They're looking for healing that goes beyond physical tools. Um, a changed body does not automatically change body shame.
SPEAKER_02Not at all, especially if you've had decades practicing body shame.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, most of us still deal with heaps and heaps of shame, even at a smaller size. So we definitely want to go there. You know, we want to find healing there. Um, losing weight does not necessarily silence the fear of regaining it. How many of us have experienced that?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, that's huge, right? That is uh probably all of us have experienced the fear it's gonna come back, it's gonna come back, I can't sustain this. You know, really nothing has changed except the physical. Um, external change cannot carry the full weight of a need that you have or that I have about identity. Yeah, we need to go there. Let's go there slowly, carefully, gently. Who are we in Christ? Right. Let's look, let's look at identity apart from the physical, apart from the physical tools. Um, mind renewal helps us notice so many things that we would not see unless we we went there with the Lord. For example, the stories we tell ourselves about our bodies. Uh, what else comes up during mind renewal?
SPEAKER_02Well, the meaning that we attach to a number on the scale, or what the doctor says, or what the size on the pants, the inside of the pant label, whatever it might be. Uh I mean, all of those things are things that, and speaking of identity, we often get our sense of identity from those things, you know, and and we mind renewal speaks directly to those targeted thoughts that we have that aren't in alignment with God. We can invite God to show us what do you want me to tell myself when I'm feeling this way, ashamed of who I am because of my size, right, or because of what the doctor said, or because I gained weight back, or because I can't seem to pull it together. Uh, what do you want me to say to myself, Lord? What is true about who I am? Yes, and and and what is true about that number on the scale? Does it define me in some way? And that's all mind renewal. We're asking God, what are your thoughts about the foods that I have a tendency to overeat? What are your thoughts about that? What are your thoughts about movement? What are your thoughts about the struggle that I have? All or nothing thinking. Like if I'm not doing 100% every day stellarly, if that's a word, then what is my thought? Am I am I done? Am I throwing in the towel? God, what are your thoughts about failure? What are your thoughts about what isn't failure
Identity And The Stories We Believe
SPEAKER_02at all, but that I tend to call myself a failure for? You know, so I mean, it goes, the list goes on and on. We can apply the the mind renewal practice to everything. Um, yeah, fear-driven food decisions, um, those, you know, what if I feel like I don't have the approval of family members that I love? And and well, what is true? Do I need their approval? Will being a different size win their approval? And is that what I am to pursue? What what does God have to say about that?
SPEAKER_00Right?
SPEAKER_02Yes, what else? You tell me some more.
SPEAKER_00Um, well, how about the belief that life can begin only after our bodies change?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, I mean, that's huge. What are God's thoughts about that? Yeah, for for so many years I thought the same as you, Heidi, that if I could get this one thing under control, if I could be this certain number on the scale or this number in my pants size or whatever it is, everything else will fall into place. My work life, my relationships, my marriage, my parenting. I mean, it sounds so crazy when you think about it, but that is what I believed. And I also very much attached my identity to my size. Me too. And yes, very much. And my fitness level, or whatever you want to call it. I mean, I very much attach my identity there. What are God's thoughts about that?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, that's life changing. When we get into this kind of thing where we are looking at our identity in Christ and we're going through the word to see what does God say about me? Wow. I mean, that is life-changing. And that's sure is that's what mind renewal is. We are um changing our thoughts to line up with God's, and we are getting rid of all those old thought patterns that have taken us straight into shame, no matter what our size.
SPEAKER_02And the women that you coach, what kinds of thoughts come up that you might encourage them to renew their minds about, or to ask God, what are his thoughts about that? To
Common Thoughts To Challenge
SPEAKER_02be curious about. What are some of those thoughts?
SPEAKER_00So many of the ladies that come to us come with similar thoughts at the big at the very beginning. And I was the same. So many of my thoughts were the same. So we can usually share those thoughts like I am out of control. I will never be at a play place of peace with food and eating in my body. Um, I am a complete failure, I'm a disaster. I can't even stand hearing these. Yeah, I'm hopeless. Um, I am full of shame. This is my secret. The world does not know how I am suffering. And then there's that one, I've got to say it because it's so prevalent. God must be so disappointed with me.
SPEAKER_02Now we just want to say right now, all of these are well, they're not, they're not what God wants you to believe.
SPEAKER_00No, they aren't. No, they're all lies. They do not line up with scripture or his character or what he says about you. No, none of them do. None of them. Um, so that's where we begin. We begin, we'll just take one of those, maybe the one, like you mentioned, um, I'm a failure. Well, you know, we could start there, or we could start with, you know, um, our identity, whatever. But we'll start at the beginning. We'll start with what you're feeling, and that's where you started with me, Heidi, as well.
SPEAKER_02What is a thought that somebody might have that sounds reasonable enough, but might need to be traded for God's perfect big T truth?
SPEAKER_00Well, the one that came to mind just as you were asking that question is I'm not worth it. I'm not worthy. Um, which a lot of people feel because of their size um or because of some some other issue in their lives where they feel like they're out of control. Um so just the thought that um I'm not lovable, I'm not worthy unless I change, unless I look different. And this might be something they believe because someone said it to them years ago or last week. It might be because of something that they you know heard someone else say about themselves. It might be something that they have heard again and again for many years. And usually these kinds of thoughts are deeply ingrained in someone's heart and mind. And so, you know, you might think, well, that's ridiculous. Of course you're worthy. You know, of course, I mean, God made you, and you know, you're you're my sister, or you're this or that, or you know, but really it's very hard for us to believe sometimes that we are lovable and worthy because of the choices we've made. We feel we condemn ourselves because of the the choices we've made and because we've been stuck in a certain pattern for so long. And it's how do we get out of that by the renewing of the mind?
GLP-1 Mind Renewal In Practice
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. All right, so let's talk about some of these special cases. What does mind renewal look like, practically speaking, uh, for someone who has chosen to go the route of a GLP one? What are God's thoughts about that? What can they because they may be filled with doubts, they may even feel like they never asked God about it. And oh, they may know that they did, uh, and that's great. And he gave them the go-head. What does mind renewal look like? What do they even need to renew their mind about?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, you know, it's so interesting, Heidi, because of course this is everywhere right now. You know, I'm hearing all different statistics, but the last one that I heard was that half of the people in the United States are either on a GPL GLP one right now or would like to be.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, and that's mind blowing. This has really exploded in the last year, I feel like, especially been around before that. Um, so and I'm gonna say in the last two weeks, I've had at least six conversations about this. Um, GLP ones and how do I renew my mind around this? Um, so it's a great question. It's one of my wonderful, one of my favorite questions is how do I renew my mind around this or that or this? Um, so again, we want to ask, we want to go to the Lord and we want to ask him, what is true about GLP1s? What is true about weight loss medications? Um, we want to ask him what is true about us, about me, what is true about my identity, what gives me worth, what gives me value? How do you see me? And then, of course, who are you, God, in all of this? Are you concerned about this? Are you worried about this? Um, what are your thoughts about this? And so you can start in any one of those places. We could give some examples. Um, for example, let's Heidi, let's you and I go back and forth. What is true about using a GLP one? What is true? Okay. Um, so I could start by saying a GLP one is a tool, it's a medication, it's a tool. That's what's true about it. That's one of the things.
SPEAKER_02Another thing that's true about it is God still loves me as much as he ever did.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, no matter what size you are, whether you're using a GLP one or not. Um, what is true is that GLP ones are not for everyone. That is true. Um, some people have terrible side effects, some people don't think it's right for them for any other emotional reasons, whatever. Um, there's many reasons why it's not right for everyone. That's truth.
SPEAKER_02But um, what is true is God still has a plan for me very specifically, and for this season, it may include a GLP one, but for another season it may not.
SPEAKER_00Yes, right. Um, what is true is that God will guide and direct me um in my any medical decision, he will guide me, he will be my counselor, he is my healer, he is our ultimate source. That is true no matter what.
SPEAKER_02Another thing that's true, and this doesn't get talked about very often, is my use of GLP1 does not solve the underlying reason I turn to food in the first place. So I may need to do some work, and mind and all is a good place to start, but also looking to the Lord for what he may want me to do, even in parallel with my use of a GLP one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's really, really important. Really important. Um, also, what is true is that GLP ones can be incredibly helpful for some.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so obviously you could renew your mind about being on a GLP one, ask God what his thoughts are about it. Um, how about what about what does mind renewal look like for someone who has undergone weight loss surgery, actually had the sleeve or had the bypass or whatever?
Weight Loss Surgery And Deeper Work
SPEAKER_00Um, in many ways, it looks the same. I mean, weight loss surgery, again, is a tool. Um, it's might be really helpful for one person and not helpful for another. What you said about um any of these kinds of tools, they don't address what's going on underneath what's going on in our hearts and our minds.
SPEAKER_02And I would think it would be very much like um, you know, I'm just guessing, but I'm thinking that when somebody has had weight loss surgery, renewing their mind might look like recognizing that is dealing with a physical component of my food and eating and the results of food and eating, but I have other work to do, and that work is mind renewal about how how I will use food because we've all heard stories of people who uh in spite of the surgery, they still have struggled. And and I think you have people that you've coached in that category.
SPEAKER_00I do.
SPEAKER_02And um, so it's like I still need to think differently about why I'm gonna eat or the um about food and its support of me and my health on this journey. And if there is trauma that I have endured in my life, that is huge. See, one of the things that I don't think anybody thinks about uh as as often as we probably could, is that the struggle with losing weight at all is often rooted in how I handled trauma in my life. Not just big trauma, but those repetitive little traumas that whittled my heart down a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Well, one of the things that I'll mention really quick, um that one of the um examples in my mind that I thought was just so meaningful, um, I had a lady that I was coaching for quite a while, and she was going in for a second weight loss surgery, and I was still coaching with her, and I asked her, What do you want to do next? She has an entire medical team that's working with her, and she said to me, Well, I need coaching more than ever now because I will need, yeah, I will need to be even more focused on mind renewal than I ever have been. Good for her for recognizing that, yeah. Exactly, yeah. And that was so meaningful to me. Um, and we have done that. We have walked together through her second surgery. She had some very um specific physical needs. Um, and she is renewing her mind every day, and I'm so it's just been such a joy and such an honor to walk with her.
SPEAKER_02That's awesome. So, another question might be does the mind renewal process change when weight loss is happening or
Why Mind Renewal Never Ends
SPEAKER_02when I no longer need to lose weight? And I can answer that one from my own experience. You go, Heidi, you go. Oh my gosh, I do not ever want to stop renewing my mind. Um, because, well, first of all, it applies to every aspect of life, it applies to how I interact with people interpersonally, it applies to how I think about difficult transitions or trials in my life. Um, but if I don't continue to renew my mind about food, about eating, about emotions, about difficult days, and will that cause me to go to the drive-thru or not, all of that, you know, many of us have experienced we've lost weight, and then something hits, a trial hits, and poof, we're back in our old habits. If we continue with mind renewal, we will not, I believe with all my heart, we will not go back to our old habits. I really do, and I've been through it. So I'm I'm thinking, so I think the mind renewal process change, yes. It it begins to be more about instead of uh, I might not any longer need the same thoughts to be renewed. It might be different thoughts, like I got this wired now. Yeah, no, uh-uh. God, what are your thoughts about where I am right now? And He will tell me this could change. Stay steeped in me, continue to hide yourself in me, find your comfort in me alone. I mean, those are the kinds of things that um, yeah, I want to always renew my mind about because things can change on a dime.
SPEAKER_00On a dime. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I just think about what I've been through in the last year with breast cancer treatment and how my body has changed, my eating has changed, um, my emotional status changed about a million times, you know. Um, if I had not brought mind renewal into that, if I had had some kind of belief like, well, I'm done, you know, I've done enough, I've done enough mind renewal and now I'm all done. But then this huge, difficult circumstance hits me and my family, I can't imagine, I can't imagine going through it without asking God, what are your thoughts? And yeah, you know, writing them down and journaling and truthless and all the different tools we have, you know, that I use, that we use for mind renewal. I mean, basically what I have found and what I what I see with the ladies that I coach is that once they get into mind renewal, they don't want to stop. It feels so good. It brings so much peace, so much joy. And we do mind renewal every time we meet. So if they haven't done it in a while, which is totally understandable, life is busy, whatever, all of a sudden we're doing it together, and they're smiling and they're lighting up, and their eyes are sparkling, and they're encouraged and excited and hopeful because that's what it brings. And so, for those of us that continue and are really intentional about it, wow, it is life-changing. It will change your life and in a way that you will love because you're thinking God's thoughts after him.
SPEAKER_02I this question also made me think of after I lost a ton of weight and I was training for this wonderful bucket list trip to Machu Picchu, backpacking with this adventure group from a church that I was associated with, I wasn't renewing my mind anymore. And when I began having the health issues I was having, it uh attacked my digestion first. And I couldn't, I couldn't eat, basically. And I won't go into the details of that right now, but I kept thinking thoughts like, oh, as soon as I'm over this, I'm gonna eat uh whatever it was, and and I'm gonna enjoy whatever it was. And so I was basically renewing my mind, but not with God's truth. I was renewing my mind with thoughts of food and how I wanted to indulge in it because I was so limited in what I could eat or couldn't eat. And so that is a danger is if I'm not filling my mind with God's thoughts, I'm filling it with something else, probably. Yes, yes, and that might be undoing all of the renewing that I had previously been doing. And I don't want to undo any of the renewing that I had done.
SPEAKER_00No, no, it has to be an ongoing thing, it's not a one and done.
SPEAKER_02No, it's not. I I think we've got enough content
Closing And What Comes Next
SPEAKER_02to talk about this a little longer in another episode. So, I mean, because what we still haven't talked about the scale and where does grace fit in on this um journey? And um yeah, it's like there's so many things yet that we could talk about. So I think we should wrap it up for today and maybe revisit this yet another day.
SPEAKER_00Okay, that sounds great. And you know, we are just so glad that you've been here. We're so glad. And we would love to invite you to come back for another episode of Revelation Within.
SPEAKER_02Thanks for being here.
